Mehta Residence
Rooted in Warmth
The Mehta family wanted a home that felt authentically Indian — not in a decorative or ornamental way, but through a genuine warmth of materials and a connection to craft. We centred the design around a rich terracotta palette that runs through every room, from the deep rust feature walls to the hand-woven textiles and earthy accents.
Craft & Texture
Solid teak furniture — a sideboard, coffee table, bed frame, and kitchen cabinetry — provides the structural backbone of the interiors. Each piece was chosen for its honest materiality and ability to age gracefully. Herringbone timber flooring adds pattern at the ground plane, while ceramic and stoneware objects introduce handmade texture that softens the geometry of the rooms.
Living Simply
The living area pairs a linen sofa against the terracotta wall with a minimal coffee table and statement pendant light, proving that restraint can feel generous. The kitchen continues the teak-and-terracotta language with integrated cabinetry and a clean stone worktop. Every element earns its place — nothing is superfluous, yet the home feels abundant and welcoming.
